  • Christian Balic, Faye Gonzales, Sam Solinap, and Eric Pasquito have been the first volunteers of the acciona.org Foundation in the Philippines.

  • A few weeks ago, they collaborated with acciona.org on-site activities in El Nido rural communities, in the north of Palawan province.

Christian Balic, Faye Gonzales, Sam Solinap, and Eric Pasquito have been the first volunteers of the acciona.org Foundation in the Philippines. They all work on the Malolos-Clark ACCIONA railway project and had no doubt to apply to the last acciona.org volunteering call to help the ACCIONA corporate foundation in their country.

They have supported acciona.org by carrying out the service satisfaction survey of the “Light at Home El Nido” pilot project. They formed four teams pairing with locals to interview beneficiaries from around 128 households and community centers in total. Cherry de Dios, project officer at acciona.org in El Nido, stated about the volunteer work: “I was grateful with the volunteers' presence. It lifts my spirit seeing and working with ACCIONA colleagues who are very supportive. The volunteer’s presence was good with the community’s morale as they felt that acciona.org was really doing the best service to its user by hearing their thoughts as recipient of the project.”

This surveying activity of the volunteers has given essential information to evaluate the success of the electricity service delivery model implemented with Light at Home. It has shown the high acceptance level of the beneficiaries with the electricity service, the use and performance of the solar home systems providing the energy, the contribution they pay to guarantee the operation & maintenance of the systems, and the attention offered by the Light at Home Center.

The results of this survey are published here. THANK YOU, VOLUNTEERS!
