- CARBON LITERACY MILESTONE. The accreditation granted by The Carbon Literacy Project positions acciona.org as the first organization in the Philippines able to deliver this internationally recognized training, opening new pathways for climate action through education.
acciona.org has been officially certified to deliver Carbon Literacy training, becoming the first organization in the Philippines to accredit a course with The Carbon Literacy Project in the United Kingdom.
The Carbon Literacy Project defines Carbon Literacy as “the ability to understand, communicate about, and act on climate change in our daily lives.” It is a global training model recognized by the United Nations that builds awareness, drives behavioral change, and promotes collective action toward decarbonization.
In the Philippines, the initiative will be implemented through acciona.org, which works to extend access to modern energy, drinking water, and appropriate sanitation services to rural communities in need. Under the program “Carbon Literacy Training at acciona.org,” the course has been accredited by The Carbon Literacy Project in the UK, allowing the foundation to train and accredit employees and partners, and provide participants with an internationally recognized ‘Carbon Literate’ certification.
“This accreditation opens a pathway to accelerate decarbonization through education-driven climate action. Through Carbon Literacy, we empower individuals and organizations to actively reduce their carbon emissions, creating a more sustainable future for all”, said Jubail Pasia, Manager of acciona.org in the Philippines.
