ACCIONA.ORG IN MEXICO

;

WE BRING ACCESS TO AFFORDABLE ELECTICITY AND RELIABLE COOKSTOVES

acciona.org Mexico provides electricity service with third generation solar home systems (3GSHS), now in the most remote communities of Oaxaca and San Luis Potosi, through a delivery model based on both systems providing electric lighting all the day, charging of mobile phone and operation of some compatible appliance -such as a small fridge- and the payment of an affordable fee to maintain the systems to ensure their operation in the long term. Some years ago, it also supplied solar home systems to more than 400 households in Chiapas and Nuevo Leon within a national government initiative launched in 2017.

In addition, it manages the service of the interconnected photovoltaic system which generates savings in the electricity bills (30% in 2024) of Colonia Juvenil, an institution which is dedicated to offer an integral education to more than 100 teenagers coming from rural underserved communities of San Luis Potosi; the installation of this plant, in 2022, had the support of the ACCIONA's business unit of services, BMW San Luis Potosi and BayWa r.e.

acciona.org Mexico also provides saving-firewood cookstoves to remote Oaxaca households, which participate in the design and the construction within the EncASa Oaxaca programme. These cookstoves are built with materials mainly found in the communities and have a combustion chamber sufficiently closed to make efficient burning firewood, as well as a chimney to prevent indoor smokes.
