OUR PROJECTS IN ETHIOPIA

acciona.org works in Ethiopia within the setting of the Alianza Shire projects. Up to now, this partnership has developed two projects.

The first one comprised different options to give energy solutions for the four Shire refugee camps (North Ethiopia), for which we studied the feasibility of biogas generation for cooking. Afterwards, a pilot project was implemented in one out of the refugee camp.

Now we are carrying out a second project, with cofunding from the European Union, to offer electrification solutions in the Dollo Ado refugee camps (South Ethiopia). We are developing off-grid electrification solutions by means of supplying solar home systems and promoting micro-businesses of energy services, in both the refugee camps and their host communities.
