NEW SCALING UP PHASE OF LUZ EN CASA NGÄBE-BUGLÉ TO APPROACH THE SUSTAINABILITY
The Luz en Casa Ngäbe-Buglé programme is growing with a new scaling up phase to almost double the number of families benefited with the programme, since it brings access to the electricity basic service to more than 1,300 additional households with solar home systems.
In addition, 2 new Centros Luz en Casa will be opened in existing small shops in reference locations. The owners will offer proximity services to the new benefited communities, such as advice, repair, sale of system-compatible electric devices, fee collection and generation of unlocking system codes.
This project is co-funded by the Spanish Agency for International Development Cooperation (AECID) within the "Universal access to electricity with 3GSHS in the Ngäbe-Buglé region" pilot project with funds from the European Union's Latin America Investment Facility (LAIF). Its implementation has been coordinated with the Panama Rural Electrification Bureau.
